"Okinawa Selvage-Denim Dungarees are for those who can appreciate the myriad of nuances and character found in the finest single-malt scotch, the clearest, most colorless diamond or a handcrafted, centuries-old oriental rug. They comprise a blend of traditional dyeing techniques and styling with innovation and creativity in textile development. These dungarees represent the higher end of Japanese selvage denim and are at the heart of the pride of the Sugar Cane brand, being constructed of fibers derived from the plant that gave rise to the brand name – SUGAR CANE.

"It starts with a basic vintage selvage dungaree style, in this case the famous Levi XX 501 button-fly, five-pocket selvage-denim dungarees of 1947. The cut and fit is nothing like the pale imposters masquerading as 501’s today. These are identical to the original vintage style, which is with a higher waist, looser seat and a straight, wider, non-tapering leg design commonly called the “stovepipe.” This traditional vintage design style is then married with the result of 25 years of research and experimentation into making the hardest wearing, most-exotic and innovative vintage selvage dungarees ever attempted, incorporating knocked –out distinctiveness in detailing and style."

Sugar Cane is the pioneer brand that got its name for manufacturing denim and other fabrics crafted from blending some of the world's best cotton and sugar cane fibers, yielding exotic, unparalleled garments that produce absolutely outrageous personality with age and wear like nothing else on the market (and they smell sweet, too, thanks to the generous blend of sugar cane).

The SEXSC06 jeans offer plenty of inseam length on a mid/low-rise, narrow-leg body made with specially crafted 13oz Japanese denim produced from 50% Okinawa cotton and 50% Okinawa sugar cane that is loomed on vintage power-operated shuttle looms in such a way as to duplicate the looser, more-porous, slubby weave associated with hand-powered wooden looms from the 19th century, creating a breathable jean that's perfect for warmer climates.

Disclaimer: These jeans are made of unsanforized denim, when washed the denim will shrink 1.25" in the waist and 3" in the length (inseam). Please keep this in mind when choosing your size. The denim will also stretch in the waist up to 1" after approximately 30 wears
